Lost pics *sniff*

Due to a computer snafu, the majority of my pictures from our trip to OK got deleted. Thankfully, I had already uploaded most of the things I wanted to my flickr account. My mom is sending me the pics she took at the children's museum, so I'll post those when I get them.

Hopefully tonight I'll get to blog about our trip home and our trip to the county fair here in IN.

Leah is ONE!!! - July 16, 2008

Hannah wearing her Abby Cadabby shirt.

And Leah in hers

Mmmm... She had more cake on her hands than she got in her mouth. Cleaning up was fun...

Dear Leah,

Today is your first birthday!! I can’t believe how quickly the past year has flown by. You have turned into quite the little character, and you love to show us your personality.

Your 7th tooth came in a few days ago and the 8th is just under the surface. Your toothy grin is SO cute!! Hopefully you won’t start working on your molars for several months, we could use a little break from teething for sure.

You are quite the talker as well. It seems that you are significantly more verbal than Hannah and Elijah were at this age. You just started shaking your head ‘no’ this week, and you love to tell us NO. You started saying something for dog and Elijah this week as well.

One of your favorite things is to have Daddy carry you around to look at pictures on the wall. You point, and he says the names of the people in the pictures. You love to get into everything, and we’ve dubbed you ‘destructo-baby’.

You now pull up to a stand all the time, and you can even balance in a squat position. You can stand for about a second, but you have no confidence in that ability. I have a feeling that you are going to be a climber, but I thought the same about Elijah and I was wrong about him.

We’ve been at Momma and Papa’s for a couple of weeks now, and we are really enjoying it. You like the pool some of the time, but you like me to hold you mostly. I bought a new baby floaty for you since Elijah likes to use one too. I think the water makes you sleepy, and that doesn’t thrill you.

We celebrated your birthday yesterday, and we decorated with Abby Cadabby stuff. It was really cute and girly. Momma made some yummy chocolate cupcakes and we let you destroy/eat one by yourself. I don’t think you ate very much, but you certainly made a mess!!

Today we are planning on taking pictures of you and going to the Jasmin Moran Childrens Museum in Seminole, OK. It should be a great birthday!

I love you Leah Miriam! I’m so glad we know you, and I can’t wait to see all the things you do in life.

Great Grandparents

Due to weird family dynamics, my grandparents have never really met my children. They only live a few blocks from my parents so I decided that I *would* take my kids over to meet them during this visit to OKC. I'm so glad I did. The kids had a wonderful time, and I know it brightend my grandparents day as well.

Park Pictures

The first day we were in OKC we went to a pretty cool park not too far from my parents' house, and I remembered my camera and got a few pics of all the kids.

Road Trip to OKC

We left town at 4:45 am, and by 5am the sky was already starting to get light! This picture was taken at 6:03 am... At least driving in daylight is a lot easier than driving in the dark.

We reached St Louis around 8am, just in time for rush hour traffic. (By the way this is my first attempt in a long time to take pictures from a moving vehicle... it's not as easy as you might think!!)

Leah, who was not alway THIS happy during the trip.

Elijah, doing his best to keep himself occupied.

Long legged Hannah :)

Pete wasn't terrible happy with the profile picture, but he was driving...

Oklahoma!!!

Sign for the Will Rogers Turnpike... I just love paying a hefty toll for a poorly maintained highway.

Seeing the Animal Planet truck was probably the highlight of the trek to OK.

Later, I'll post pictures of Momma's house... the pool, the 4th of July, Elijah's birthday party, etc.
